Central Illinois Greyhound Adoption (CIGA) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in September of 2000. We are funded by donations, grants and sales, staffed by volunteers who give up their time, energy and resources (both financial and material) for the greyhounds. We receive no compensation for our work, other than the true joy of seeing greyhounds united with their loving families. Without the volunteers and people like you, Central Illinois Greyhound Adoption would not exist, and for that, we thank you. Since the year 2000 we have rehabilitated approximately 650 injured racing greyhounds.
If you are interested in adopting a special needs greyhound, contact our president sharonpalm@comcast.net. She will be happy to make suggestions on finding your special greyhound.
Central Illinois Greyhound Adoption gratefully acknowledges receipt of a recent grant from the Tony Stewart Foundation. The funds will be used to pay veterinarian fees in order to rehabilitate injured greyhounds. Without the help of the Tony Stewart Foundation, CIGA would be unable to help injured greyhounds find loving homes.
